The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program is seeking a Responsible Engineer to support Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) for the Trident II ballistic missile on the Life Extension 2 (LE2) program. The SEIT team oversees interface definitions, plans and executes verification processes, and supports development project under the FBM Program for LE2.
The LE2 Missile Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) is the technical advocate for the missile system throughout the product's life cycle, including requirements definition design development, integration, testing, and mission operations.
This role provides engineering authority and accountability for missile-specific requirements, performance, reliability, and safety throughout the system life-cycle. As the Missile RSE on the FBM LE2 program, you will:
• Lead the definition, verification, and validation of missile system requirements in alignment with program milestones and Navy customer requirements
• Ensure the technical integrity of the missile while considering allocated cost and
schedule constraints
• Direct and mentor a multidisciplinary team (structures, propulsion, guidance, avionics, etc.) to deliver integrated missile solutions
• Conduct trade-studies and technology assessments for new materials and mission architecture concepts
• Oversee critical design reviews, test plans, and flight-test execution; assess test data and drive corrective actions
• Interface with program management, customers, and certification authorities to ensure compliance with FBM LE2 program requirements
• Prepare technical reports, risk registers, and status updates for senior leadership and external stakeholders
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including incorporation of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with one or more of the following Systems Engineering principles - system or subsystem:
1) Design/Development
2) Integration
3) Test
4) Evaluation
• Experience in technical integration
• Experience providing technical guidance and support across multiple disciplines, and facilitating collaboration among stakeholders to drive project success
• Experience integrating various subsystems and components to meet system requirements
• Experience working with teams and stakeholders in development projects
• Active Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required

• Master's Degree in Engineering or Related Field: A master's degree in a relevant field

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
