THE WORK
The Quality Engineer Associate Manager is responsible for leading the Production Quality at the Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) facility in Manassas, VA. This position will report to the Quality Market Segment Senior Manager and Manassas Quality Site Lead for the USW Market Segment in the C6ISR line of business (UMS - MIC2 as of January 2026).
The candidate will provide leadership to the Manassas Production Quality team, inclusive of Quality Engineers and Inspection/Reclamation led by an Inspection Supervisor who will directly report into this role. In addition, this role will have Quality leadership responsibility over the Sonobuoy Program with the Quality Program Manager (QPM) directly reporting to this role.
The candidate will provide leadership through identification and implementation of process improvement efforts across Production aligning to APEX and engaging with PMTs across the site. In addition, this will require cross-functional collaboration, in the corresponding RMS Quality initiatives including but not limited to: Root Cause Analysis, Digital Transformation/1LMX, and Data Analytics.
This leader will also be the primary interface with the customer (primarily DCMA and NOST) for Production Quality efforts across the site.
This role is also accountable for establishing, performing and managing annual budgets, headcount, DCI%, capital requests, Quality metrics, employee growth and development, employee performance and training requirements for the Product Quality team in Manassas.

Basic Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in various Quality and/or Manufacturing Operations/Production environments.
- Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership skills.
- Strong working knowledge of problem solving/root cause analysis and process management.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in implementing and maintaining AS9100-certified Quality Management Systems.
- Experience leading Quality Engineers and/or Inspectors
- Ability to drive strategic initiatives and process
improvements
- Ability to give, receive, and act on critical feedback.
- Ability to balance teaming and flexibility while maintaining independence and ensuring process adherence.
- Experience with data analytics and making data-driven decisions to drive improvement and corrective action.
- Experience closely working with Customers (DCMA, DOD customers, etc..)
