Description:The Senior Fire Protection Engineer leads design, analysis, and implementation of fire protection systems for Lockheed Martin Greenville Site Operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards while mentoring subordinates and members of Facilities Maintenance team on our Fire Protection Systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with NFPA, DoD, FAA, and customer specifications.
- Conduct fire-hazard analyses, risk assessments, and develop safety cases.
- Review and approve fire-protection drawings, specifications, and test plans.
- Coordinate with program managers, system engineers, and external stakeholders.
- Develop/maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best-practice documentation.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective-action implementation.
- Support cost estimating, budgeting, and schedule tracking for fire-protection deliverables.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, or a related engineering discipline complete, relative experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive fire-protection engineering or relatable experience, with at least 2 years in a lead experience.
- Familiarity with core NFPA standards (13,20,25,70,72,101) and/or DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level II or higher
Desired Skills:
- Strong written and oral communication; ability to produce clear engineering documentation and present technical findings.
- Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, or closely related field.
- NFPA Certified Fire Protection Engineer (CFPE); PMP or equivalent project-management certification.
- NFPA NICET Level III or IV
- Experience with Fire Departments for fire-hazard analysis, advanced fire-modeling tools, or proprietary LM fire-simulation platforms.
- Hands on involvement with FAA, MIL-STD, or other defense-sector certification processes.
- Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing budgets, and delivering on schedule for complex engineering projects.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
