What does this role look like?
Join us as a Project Engineer for the FBM Avionics directorate where you will be involved in planning and executing avionics work scope and program execution.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
• Ensure that projects are completed on cost and schedule following established procedures, schedules, and work plans
• Coordinate the planning, organizing, control, Integration and completion of Engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility
• Ensure Engineering is coordinated across Program and suppliers
• Support Program Management in Product Strategy alignment with Mission Roadmaps.
• Be the bridge between Program Management Office, Government Partners and Production Operations.
• Manage Product improvement/optimization projects.
• Coordinate and resolve unplanned challenges and drive issue resolution velocity within Avionics Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
• Provide Proposal Support and BOE inputs to drive commonality and alignment with Avionics directorate product strategy.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Demonstrated Integrated Partnership Support and Communication
• Prior technical project leadership experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coordinate and run meetings.
• You will need to be a US Citizen with aibility to obtain US DoD TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract.
• Ability to be onsite full time and ability to travel for government partner meetings
• Prior experience with technical project coordination and ownership
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's &/or Masters degree in Program Management and 5+years of related professional work experience
• Prior project management experience and Control Account Management (CAM) experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope.
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very sophisticated problems and implement constructive change.
• Experience in project management principals (Cost/Schedule/Technical).
• Knowledge of program lifecycle and how early achievements may drive future costs.
• Experience throughout engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test and operational deployment).
• Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in Business Rhythm creation.
• Demonstrated experience presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated experience organizational skills.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing, and presentations
• Understanding stakeholder needs and defining appropriate solutions
• Leadership experience.

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
