Duties
Help
  • Serves as an IT Project Manager in the DLA, Info Ops J62 Program Executive Office (PEO), J62X System Applications and Products (SAP) Platform, in the Distribution Standard System (DSS)/ Warehouse Management System (WMS) Portfolio (J62XD).
  • Serves as the Business Integrator for WMS/DSS Portfolio delivering and sustaining WMS (Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Transportation Management (TM), ERP Central Component (ECC), S/4, etc);
  • across the DLA Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) (Distribution, Weapon Support, Disposition Services, etc)
  • Interprets complex policies and applies them to specific program objectives to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals for WMS, DSS, DLA Distribution Mapping System (DDMS), and Vendor Shipment Module (VSM).
  • Maintains communication and situational awareness of project scope, integrated project schedules, resource requirements, and status with all stakeholders to include:
  • project team members, team member supervisors, senior management, and a wide array of DLA customers and business partners.
  • Monitors and tracks projects and system defects using Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) tool.
  • Evaluates the status and progress of work accomplished in terms of quality, efficiency, and effectiveness in achieving objectives.
  • Develops and/or employs tools and methods to track progress throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Represents the agency at meetings and conferences involving senior level personnel throughout Department of War (DoW), other government agencies and private industry.
  • Provides support in achieving DLA audit readiness goals and objectives to include direct support to audit readiness teams through the completion of specific tasks and deliverables.

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Project Manager (SYSANALYSIS) your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Provides specific expertise in the areas of IT project management, policies, principals, methods and practices to define project resources, milestones and deliverables; develop IT system plans and schedules.
  • Leverages automation integration to fortify process gaps and streamline workflows.
  • Supports analysis of data and comparable activities in support of goals and objectives related to high levels of program and project management as supported by the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Assures industry standard project management methodology is implemented for maximum effectiveness, efficiency and success of assigned IT projects.
  • Prepares and delivers project documents, staff reports, and briefings to managers to encourage understanding and acceptance of findings, plans and recommendations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.
