Job Description:

The role involves leading and conducting quality assurance testing of business software applications and smaller projects to ensure reliability, functionality, and successful implementation in accordance with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on-site 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration. This can be changed to 5 days a week as well. IMPORTANT - This role requires Protected B security clearance (Reliability Status). If the candidate doesn't have Protected B reliability status already, then the candidate must be either a Canadian Citizen or PR with residency in Canada longer than 5 years to make the Security clearance application smoother.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6 years of experience with automated regression test tools and building and maintaining automated test scripts.
  • 5-10 years of testing experience in a QA environment.
  • Proven history of writing and maintaining test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
  • Excellent comprehension of QA processes and methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Ability to lead junior QA Analysts during Testing Phases and provide coaching and mentoring.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Document Processing Automation, Tungsten (Kofax) Total Agility.
  • Experience in recommending test automation and industry-standard tools, processes, and methodologies (e.g., Agile).
  • Experience in identifying process gaps and suggesting improvements.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and support teams to define testing specifications.
  • Experience in providing input during application implementation.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design high-level testing approaches for smaller projects based on business and product requirements, adhering to industry standards.
  • Recommend improvements for products and business solutions in future releases.
  • Develop test cases from business requirements.
  • Fix product defects and create regression tests.
  • Deliver accurate and timely effort estimates for change requests and small projects.
  • Contribute to test strategy and planning, ensuring projects meet business and client needs.
  • Identify and address quality issues, risks, and barriers to test execution promptly.
  • Complete required documentation clearly and accurately (e.g., test strategies, test plans).
  • Provide regular QA project status updates.
  • Support continuous improvement in QA processes to deliver reliable solutions efficiently.
