KBR is seeking a System Administrator to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. Active TS/SCI clearance require

The System Administrator (SA) SME provides virtual machine and virtualization administration support at the Wideband C-SSE in Colorado Springs, CO providing site guidance for WSOMS ensuring all reconfigurations are performed according to approved design documents, configuration standards, and security policies.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as primary SA in inventorying, performing system and server backups and backup drives, weekly full system and daily incremental backups of server hardware, software, and other resources.
  • Performs systems administration services to manage and secure mission systems computers, workstations, terminals, and associated equipment to allow access to data and computer applications software.
  • Maintains and performs review of audit logs for security vulnerabilities and system maintenance.
  • Assists the Cybersecurity SME in reviewing system security information and maintain relevant cybersecurity certifications and applicable operating system and/or computing environment certifications.
  • Recommends improved data backup and recovery solutions to minimize the risk of data loss and reduce recovery times.
  • Reconfigures equipment to support new applications, re-engineered equipment, and new uses of WSOMS systems.
  • Assists in the creation, maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of various virtual machines present in WSOMS.
  • Maintains clear and up-to-date documentation of data recovery procedures for different scenarios.
  • Regularly evaluates current solutions and evaluates the newest commercial standards.
  • Confirm patches and fixes are applied and implemented correctly.
  • Ensures WSOMS systems compliance with AFI 17-130 Cybersecurity Program Management.
  • Provides Operating System Support.
  • Provides an initial diagnosis of the issue, including the scope of impact and potential causes.
  • Implements corrective actions and configuration changes to resolve issues.
  • Designs, develops and supports application software to meet the needs of the mission.
  • Administers physical and virtual servers, supporting computers and peripherals.
  • Administers user IDs and passwords.
  • Inventories systems, servers, software and peripherals, creates operating system scripts and coordinate upgrades in accordance with standard operating practices (SOPs).


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience :
  • BA/BS degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Requires DoD 8140 (DoD 8570) Cybersecurity certification.
  • Computing Environment Certification (VMWare, Windows, Linux) and Security + DAF Cyberspace Workforce Management Program.
  • Meet personnel security and training requirements for duties as required by DAFMAN 17- 1303, DAF Cyberspace Workforce Management Program.


Citizenship and Clearance :
  • US Citizen.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI is required.


Technical Knowledge:
  • Proficient in Virtual Machine (VM) Ware and Hyper-Virtual (Hyper-V), and familiar with other virtualization protocols.
  • Solid understanding of satellite communications (SATCOM)/telecommunications.
  • Experience maintaining operating system software including but not limited to Windows, Unix, Linux, and Virtual Memory System (VMS).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Wideband Satellite Operations Centers (WSOCs) and RSSCs highly desired.
  • Experience with communications, operational and physical security requirements for the generation, handling, marking, controlling, protecting, and disposition of classified material and information.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and database administration.
  • Qualified in all operational positions within the WSOC.
  • Familiar with the Guardians and AF Civilians IAW: AFI13- 602V1_SPOCSUP_SPOCGM2022-01 qualification process.


SCHEDULED WEEKLY HOURS:
  • Normal hours of operation (0730-1630 hours).
  • 40 hours, 5 days a week.

TRAVEL:
  • May require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations, expect approximately 10%.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Basic Compensation:

$100,400 - $125,500

This range is for the CO area only

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
