Job Summary
KBR is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our team at our Colorado Springs, CO Cygnet Heights office. The selected candidate will operate under the direct supervision of the Senior Systems Engineer and support projects around ground-based mobile satellite communication systems, software development, and radio frequency engineering. The Junior/Mid Systems Engineer will be responsible for analyzing user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
• Provide decision support and advice on investment strategies
• Provide support to senior-level staff for coordination and management of systems engineering actions and activities
• Provide technical support and assessments focused on activities that address technology research, applied technology concepts, and technology demonstrations.
• Advise management on technical risks of new and ongoing projects and review, analyze, and assess technologies, system concepts, data, and information to recommend applications of new or emerging technologies
• Perform analyses and assessments of projects to help determine their consistency with strategic direction, technology development plans, and requirements
• Support and coordinate outreach efforts with other Government agencies, industry, and academia
• Assist in establishing procedures and standards for managing technical development/architecture plans across the portfolio
• Review, analyze, comment, and prepare staffing documents, including plans, policies, concepts of operation, technical architectures, initiatives, and programmatic documents
• Analyze identified hardware, software, procedural, or training system shortfalls and propose technical alternatives to remedy the problem(s), applying the principles and practices of systems engineering
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical discipline required
• Minimum of 5 years of overall systems engineering experience and a thorough understanding of systems engineering and acquisition processes
• An active TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to derive an understanding of stakeholder needs and functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness from system requirements
• Experience supporting system requirements and system integration at the enterprise level
• Experience following a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces
• Experience with Agile project management principles and processes
• Ability to think critically (research, understand, analyze, synthesize, and critique), creating solutions to new and one-of-a-kind program challenges and issues as they arise
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to derive an understanding of stakeholder needs and functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness from system requirements
• Experience supporting system requirements and system integration at the enterprise level
• Experience following a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces
• Experience with Agile project management principles and processes
Salary Range: $110,460-$165,690
The salary range posted is based on Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
