The GSC SME functions as the technical expert for ground systems and the Modernized Earth Terminal (MET) with responsibility for hardware installation and maintenance, technical support, software upgrade and configuration management for Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Data Communications (DATACOM) systems supporting WSOC missions.

KBR is seeking a Ground System Controller (GSC) SME to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. Active TS/SCI clearance required.
The GSC SME functions as the technical expert for ground systems and the Modernized Earth Terminal (MET) with responsibility for hardware installation and maintenance, technical support, software upgrade and configuration management for Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Data Communications (DATACOM) systems supporting WSOC missions.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides expert technical analysis and recommendations to resolve performance and operations issues with WSOMS weapons systems and MET.
- Regularly interfaces with and provides support to all GSCs at each WSOC.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts in WSOMS weapon systems and MET performance and operations.
- Provides customer support during working groups and ground systems meetings concerning MET and MET equipment.
- Assist with property management for the Depot and logistics personnel.
- Expert for all WSOMS weapons systems and MET infrastructure/facilities related to maintenance, security systems (alarms, cameras, etc.); UPS Expert System Bypass Module (SBM) operations. (facility and user devices); HVAC systems; generator maintenance; and server room support.
- Reviews all GSC location records of all PMIs, deficiencies / problems, and repairs to determine possible systemic issues.
- Serves as mission essential personnel and required to be onsite during their shift independent of weather and base closures.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience :
- AA/AS and 8+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
Citizenship and Clearance :
- US Citizen.
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of cybersecurity and network administration is a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- The CompTIA Security+ (or higher) certification.
- Demonstrates exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness in SATCOM operations and maintenance.
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently and in high pressure situations.
SCHEDULED WEEKLY HOURS:
- Normal hours of operation (0730-1630 hours).
- 40 hours, 5 days a week.
TRAVEL:
- May require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations, expect approximately 5%.
- This position is contingent upon contract award.
- Basic Compensation:
$38.85 - $48.56
This range is for the CO area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
