The Joint Defense Support Group (JDSG), within SPA's Sea Land Air (SLA) Division, supports the Surface Community and components of the United States Navy by providing program management, requirements management, force development, and readiness support in Washington DC and the Fleet concentration areas. We provide timely, objective, analytic assessments, strategic planning, and expert operational, technical, and acquisition support to the Maritime communities, and related agencies, allies, and partners. We are trusted agents of the senior and operational leadership in the Fleet, OPNAV, NAVSEA, and the Royal Canadian and Royal Australian Navies. We play key roles in providing insights and strategies to address current and emerging challenges to national security and have tremendous impact on our client's success in solving their most important issues. #MC
Responsibilities
The PM is responsible for overseeing the direct support of a major, Navy shipbuilding acquisition contract of over 100 employees. The PM will support a variety of activities related to the acquisition, modernization, and life cycle management support of a Surface Combatant class and their embedded systems, including drafting requisitions, interviewing, and hiring to fill all roles. PM responsibilities also include developing program strategies, overseeing multiple complex projects, managing budgets and resources, and identifying and mitigating risks.
Collaborate with and manage relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams; Communicate program objectives, goals, and progress to stakeholders and executives; Provide leadership and mentor project staff and managers.

- Develop and implement program strategies aligned with organizational objectives; Set program goals, objectives, and long-term roadmap; Create and manage program budgets and resources; Establish and maintain program controls and standards.
- Manage and coordinate multiple interconnected projects; Oversee project managers and allocate responsibilities to team members; Monitor project progress, timelines, and performance against goals; Ensure projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and budget requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues; Develop contingency plans and troubleshoot problems as they arise Ensure projects stay on track and resolve issues that may impact delivery.

Qualifications
Required
- 10 years acquisition experience/four years in program of similar complexity
- Navy Shipbuilding Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree
- Secret Clearance
- DAWIA level 3 PM qual
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Desired
- Knowledge of DoD/Navy ACAT I Programs, Recent Contracts, and DoD 5000.02 Series
- Former Major Navy Program Manager
- Significant analysis experience
- Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
