DESCRIPTION:
This individual will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contractual agreements to support organizational goals and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements. This role combines strong contract lifecycle management expertise with advanced technical writing skills to produce clear, accurate, and high-quality documentation, including statements of work (SOWs), technical specifications, proposals, policies, and process documentation. This role is ideal for a strong communicator with analytical ability who has demonstrated success with determining writing requirements and writing compliant and compelling responses to prompts
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze government requests for quotes, proposals, and information (RFQ, RFP, RFI) to identify requirements for submission compliance and ensure alignment with evaluation criteria.
Engage with business development, contracting, pricing, and proposal team elements to understand strategy and develop win themes and differentiators.
Read and interpret highly technical source material; interview technical subject matter experts (SMEs) and on-site staff to gather detailed information and convert it into clear, persuasive proposal narratives.
Translate research into compliant, accurate, accessible, and compelling text.
Collaborate with proposal manager, senior writer, and on-site team to outline, draft, and revise proposal volumes such as Technical Approach and Past Performance, ensuring consistency and compliance across all sections.
Incorporate feedback from reviewers, SMEs, and leadership to refine content.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a STEM field).
Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills; strong attention to detail and proofreading ability.
Ability to understand and synthesize complex technical and operational information into clear, persuasive writing.
Collaborative personality with strong communication skills; able to coordinate input from multiple contributors and adapt to feedback; comfortable with providing feedback to more-senior writers.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in or with government offices, particularly in defense, intelligence, or law enforcement or experience assisting with or contributing to proposals, RFIs, or marketing communications.
Familiarity with federal contracting processes and proposal development.
Understanding of contract types such as FFP, BPA, T&M, and IDIQ.
Interest or proficiency in using Generative AI tools (LLMs) for research and content refinement (not content generation).
Schedule:
The schedule for this position is project driven and can be highly variable depending on project deadlines and the specific needs of the software development teams, typically Monday to Friday.
