KBR is seeking a Development SME to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. Active TS/SCI clearance required.
The Development SME provides the technical software programming expertise for the Wideband C-SSE in Colorado Springs, CO by leveraging advanced engineering methods/capabilities to create, develop, and maintain the C-SSE tools, websites, and other software to be hosted on servers and/or SIPRNET. The effort includes all phases from design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Functions as the software development technical expert for the Wideband C-SSE.
- Provides expertise for user-facing and back-end software development.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define requirements, architect solutions, and ensure code quality and scalability.
- Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and code comments.
- Ensures well documented code, with thorough testing and timely delivered verified/validated functional SW.
- Collaborates with hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities.
- Provides input for technical documentation and procedures for installation, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
- Supports training development as it relates to software upgrades to the network.
- Supports software integration and test activities.
- Acts an authorized technical liaison and supports working groups and other meetings as directed by the customer.
- Provides coaching and mentoring to teammates and recommendations for career development, training, certifications, peer reviews, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience :
- BA/BS degree and 8+ years of experience.
- Requires DoD 8140 (DoD 8570) Cybersecurity certification.
- Certified in Networking (Cisco, Juniper, Network+) and Security+ DAF Cyberspace Workforce Management Program.
Citizenship and Clearance :
- US Citizen.
- Active Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI is required.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficient with PHP, Java and SQL programming languages and experienced with user-facing and back-end software development.
- Can perform complex systems modeling, simulation and analysis.
- Experience with software/database development for Satellite Communication systems is required.
- Solid understanding of satellite communications (SATCOM)/telecommunications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in one or more areas including Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS), SATCOM transmissions, and/or DSCS highly desired.
- Experience with Design, development, implementation and analysis of complicated and difficult software programs for computer-based systems.
- Understanding of cybersecurity and database administration.
- Exhibits exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness for problem solving and customer service; excellent written and verbal communications skills.
SCHEDULED WEEKLY HOURS:
- Normal hours of operation (0730-1630 hours).
- 40 hours, 5 days a week.
TRAVEL:
- May require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations, expect approximately 5%.
- This position is contingent upon contract award.
- Basic Compensation:
$124,300 - $155,300
This range is for the CO area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance
