We are seeking an accomplished Vice President of Finance to lead the financial strategy, compliance, and performance of our mid-sized government contracting organization. The VP of Finance will oversee all financial operations-including budgeting, forecasting, pricing, audit, and reporting while ensuring full compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements, and other regulatory standards.

This executive will serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO and leadership team, ensuring the company maintains strong financial health while positioning the business for growth in the federal marketplace.

What you'll do:
  • Develop and execute the company's long-term financial strategy aligned with corporate goals and government market conditions.
  • Provide financial guidance and decision support to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Support M&A planning, financial evaluations, due diligence, integration planning, and financial modeling.
  • Drive strategic pricing governance by partnering with Growth and Operations to develop competitive, compliant, and data-informed pricing strategies across all bids.
  • Establish long-range pricing strategies aligned with portfolio health, backlog/ pipeline analytics, and corporate investment priorities.
  • Oversee all finance, treasury, and budgeting functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation strategies.
  • Lead development of annual operating budgets and multi-year forecasts.
  • Ensure full compliance withFAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA audit standards.
  • Oversee indirect rate development, cost pools, and pricing strategies for contract bids.
  • Support proposal teams with compliant cost/price volumes and competitive pricing structures.
  • Manage incurred cost submissions (ICE), provisional billing rates, and audit responses.
  • Partner with Growth, Operations, and Program Management to ensure BOEs reflect accurate labor categories, staffing models, delivery approaches, and risk-adjusted costing.
  • Oversee financial systems such as MicroSoft Dynamics Business Central.
  • Strengthen internal controls and financial best practices.
  • Implement financial automation and reporting improvements.
  • Build and maintain corporate pricing tools, rate cards, escalation models, and costing repositories.
  • Provide executive oversight of competitive analysis, price-to-win intelligence, and cost modeling.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with People & Culture, Contracts, Growth, Operations, and Innovation Lab to improve organizational performance.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • An active, OR the ability to obtain and maintain, a Top-Secret CI/Poly clearance
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior role at a government contractor or government contractor focused private equity / venture capital investor.
  • Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA audit processes.
  • Experience developing and managing indirect rate structures and cost/pricing strategies.
  • Proven track record leading financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding executive/board-level decision-making.
  • Strong experience with government contracting ERP systems.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and leadership abilities.

SALARY RANGE: $184,000 - $211,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
