- You will execute/manage all transportation/shipping requirements IAW established policies and processes to support of MSC Program Managers, Area Commands, and Ship Support Units (SSU).
- You will follow up on shipments and compile shipping data on material moving from point-to-point.
- You will monitor and track input into and oversee updates to the MSC financial management system.
- You will analyze transportation deficiency reports and identify root causes.
- You will support on-site Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) / Technical Point of Contract (San Diego) in performing technical oversight for physical distribution operations.

- Experience executing all aspects of transportation actions initiated for all standard and commercial material and equipment, and services for MSC ships for emergent priority requirements, including CASREPS, ANORs, Government Furnished Equipment/Material (GFE/GFM), critical equipage or other material requirements for all ships in CONUS and OCONUS;
- Experience ensuring timely delivery of material by confirming transportation modes, required lead times, and associated costs to Meet command transportation requirements;
- Experience evaluating and select appropriate transportation means to sustain and replenish MSC ships operating worldwide in support of both DoD (e.g. USN, USMC, USA, USAF, DLA,USTRANSCOM) and other Government agency missions;
- Experience monitoring established shipping systems and programs, and performs independent reviews of transportation actions.
- Managing or participating in managing a transportation or traffic program involving (1) operating a transport or traffic system to move passengers or commodities of an organization when there is accountability for operating costs, (2) operating a transportation system to provide common carrier types of services to shippers, and (3) procuring common or other carriers and other transportation services to move an organization's personnel, freight, and/or other commodities.
- Conducting or participating in conducting surveys and studies of the traffic management function, operating methods, procedures, and performance.
- Making presentations on traffic matters before Federal, State, or local regulatory bodies.
- Performing loss and damage prevention work when this included responsibilities such as policy and procedures formulation and studies of traffic operations and services.
- Negotiating with carriers and/or regulatory bodies on questions of rates, transit privileges and charges, special services and charges thereof, and classification of commodities.
- Providing advisory service involving commodity analysis from the transportation standpoint.
