Job Description

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of four years related experience within enterprise client server computing Linux and Windows system administration and application management and Classified computer networks. This experience should generate familiarity with operations and maintenance including distributed computing, scripting/programming, printing, mail systems, installation and configuration, security and third-party installations within a closed room client-server environment.

The candidate should be able to perform daily closed room activities, e.g. ensure systems are operational, transfer data, ensure backups are complete and work well with other IT specialists supporting engineering customers. The candidate should be familiar with account management, performing system back-ups, maintaining system configuration files, connecting external storage devices, system and network troubleshooting. Individual shall have an intermediate level of understanding of operating systems and be familiar with Linux and Windows commands and utilities at the user and administrator level.

A successful candidate will be joining a team supporting internal customers implementing and managing lab infrastructure to meet the customer requirements. In this role, you will build, configure, administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers and user workstation hardware and software; build and manage authentication, file sharing, and other collaboration servers to support groups of heterogeneous client systems. You will work with facilities security staff to develop and apply hardening steps for systems for classified use to DISA, NIST, NISPOM, JAFAN, and other customer standards. Document system configuration for new and existing systems. Experience with centralized authentication technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory domains in supporting (Linux/Windows) cross-platform clients is desirable.

In support of projects, the candidate will validate requirements and provide User Acceptance Testing of the implemented project design. Additionally, candidate maintains knowledge of classified network standards and policies so contributions align with security requirements. Ensures that the BAE Systems Classified Network are operating efficiently so that all service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.

The candidate should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. You will also need to be willing to respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts.

The candidate will need to be eligible to receive a security clearance within 3 months of hire date or have an active Secret clearance.

CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) may be required to work in some of the customer labs, and preference will be given to candidates who hold this certificate.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Education:

- Experience with administering Windows systems.

- Experience with administering Linux systems.

- Basic understanding of networking with Cisco equipment.

- Manage the installation and upgrade of IT systems.

- Ability to troubleshoot problems within client / server environment.

- Create and maintain documentation (standards, best practices) for supported technologies.

- Effectively communicate with customers and technical staff to troubleshoot and resolve IT related problems.

- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and move into positions either standing or kneeling that require connecting computing equipment up for use

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

- Secret Security Clearance
- Strong Linux and Windows experience and skills.

- Familiarity with Linux HPC systems, XCat, Slurm

- General knowledge of Cisco equipment.

- Veeam and Veritas Netbackup experience.

- VMWare experience.

- Windows/Unix shell scripting

- Familiar with operations of audit logs and making data available for reviewers.

- Experience operating in closed rooms and procedures supporting classified information.

- NetApp Management

- Working experience with tool automation software such as SCCM, Puppet, or MECM.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $63653 - $108210

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
