Cyber Security Engineer

KBR is Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer with a minimum three years of experience to join our KBR Clearfield Team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing cyber support for the A-10C Thunderbolt II.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation in compliance with NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), including:
- System Security Plan (SSP)
- Architecture Analysis Report
- Risk Assessment Report
- Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M)
- Authority to Operate (ATO) package
- Perform security control implementation and assessment for aircraft systems and associated ground support systems.
- Conduct architecture and design reviews to ensure compliance with DoDI and DoDM cybersecurity guidance.
- Execute risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate vulnerabilities in aircraft systems.
- Coordinate with system engineers and program managers to integrate cybersecurity requirements into system lifecycle.
- Prepare and deliver artifacts for RMF steps (Categorization, Selection, Implementation, Assessment, Authorization, and Continuous Monitoring).
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01, and related directives.
- Support vulnerability management and remediation activities for aircraft platforms.
- Interface with Authorizing Officials (AOs) and stakeholders to achieve and maintain ATO.
- Maintain awareness of emerging threats and technologies relevant to aircraft cybersecurity.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 controls and DoD RMF process.
- Familiarity with DoDI/DoDM cybersecurity guidance and aircraft system environments.
- Hands-on experience creating and managing RMF artifacts (SSP, POA&M, ATO documentation).
- Knowledge of secure architecture principles for avionics and mission systems.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and vulnerability management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active or ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
- CISSP, CISM, or Security+ certification.
- Experience with aircraft systems, avionics, or defense platforms.
- Familiarity with continuous monitoring tools and automated compliance solutions.
- A strong understanding of computer hardware and software architectures.
