SOSi is seeking a seasoned Field Service Engineer (FSE) for an exciting role at Camp Zama, Japan. From our Honolulu hub, we design and deliver secure, resilient network infrastructures that support USINDOPACOM's critical C2 strategies and connect 5,000+ customers across the Pacific theater.

As part of our innovative team, you'll tackle complex technical challenges, architect unique solutions, and help deploy a private cloud platform that empowers the warfighter. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position that demands high standards. As a member of the team, you will administer and maintain local and wide area networks, provide technical support and troubleshooting to users and contribute to network design.

The selected candidate will analyze and resolve interoperability and functionality issues for user and network devices, as well as IT services to include email, file transfer, unified communications, and the like. Contribute to planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites as well as configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. Support the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed; perform various tests and document results.

Principal Duties
  • Manage usage and performance of C4I Mission Enclaves.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of network devices and systems and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Patch and update network device operating systems to Department of Defense guidelines.
  • Monitor overall network health and troubleshoots reported events.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Participate in developing and implementing network-related procedures and standards.
  • Participate in and may lead, aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
  • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
  • Evaluate hardware and software, input, output, peripheral and related equipment.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
  • Maintain system documentation.
  • Provide advice and training to end-users.
  • Provide work leadership to less-experienced network personnel.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • An Active in-scope Top Secret DoD security clearance with SCI Eligibility and US Passport.
  • Bachelor's degree with four (4) years' experience or eight (8) years of related network administration and analysis experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) or higher is required.
  • Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience in Circuit & Network Design.
  • Experience with Type 1 Encryption Devices (KIV-7M) and TACLANE KG-175 D/G.
  • DISA Circuit Management experience.
  • Intermediate level understanding of network switching and routing technologies.
  • Experience implementing DISA STIG Network Security guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications (MCSA, MCSE, VCA, VCP, RHCSA, RHCE, CCNA, and/or CCNP).

  • Target Salary Range: $85,491 to $107,117.
