ISSO (Information System Security Officer)

MANTECH seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Information System Security Officer to join our team in Quantico, VA.You will play a critical role in safeguarding information systems and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards. This role supports mission-critical activities and works closely with internal teams and the Sponsor to meet rigorous security requirements.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support the cybersecurity lifecycle from assessment through compliance:Create, update, maintain, and interpret required Body of Evidence (BOE) documentationNavigate the Sponsor's accreditation process in collaboration with management, internal teams, and Sponsor authoritiesDocument and maintain control responses, including comprehensive libraries and network diagrams for cyber defense capabilities and sensorsConduct regular vulnerability scanning across Sponsor networks and maintain system baselinesSupport configuration management and security event monitoring processesCoordinate with stakeholders to ensure full system compliance and operational integrityRecommend and, when approved, implement security process and policy enhancementsOther duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications:7+ years of progressively responsible experience in Information Systems SecurityMeet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements (for example, must have and maintain active Security + CE (or equivalent)Demonstrated experience with ICD 503 and the Sponsor's accreditation processes, especially in developing A&A BOE documentationProven ability to meet security requirements in complex or Sponsor environmentsExperience managing and documenting complex networks, including compliance, patching, configuration management, and centralized authenticationStrong communication skills for creating and maintaining technical and security documentationPreferred Qualifications:Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)Familiarity with the Sponsor's primary cyber risk and compliance automation toolsSelf-starter with strong interpersonal skills, able to coordinate meetings and influence change across teamsClearance Requirements:Must have a current active TS/SCIPhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Mus be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
