MANTECH seeks a highly skilled and mission-driven Launch Site System Engineer to join our team at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL. In this role, you will support the United States Space Force (USSF) and Space Systems Command (SSC) by providing engineering expertise to the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to national security missions through hands-on technical evaluation and mission assurance support.The Launch Site System Engineer will support engineering activities across a fast-paced launch environment and help ensure launch vehicle readiness, safe operations, and technical compliance.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Providing system engineering support to ensure the capability of launch vehicles to provide services for National Security Space (NSS) missionsMonitoring United Launch Alliance's anomaly resolution process, risk process, issues, and configuration changes to support Government tracking of all ground system configuration changesAssessing and evaluating United Launch Alliance's launch complex requirements, design, configuration changes, and verification/validation documentation and providing risk recommendations to the GovernmentPerforming monitoring and analysis of United Launch Alliance's processes and procedures including vehicle processing and checkout, Wet Dress Rehearsals (WDRs), and other operationsObserving launch readiness reviews, post-flight ground system performance reviews, and supporting technical interchange meetings, design reviews, Engineering Review Boards, and Chief Engineer Review BoardsSupporting mission operations, troubleshooting and tracking outages, and assisting users with launch site communication systemsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline10+ years DoD/Launch/Range/Space-lift Integration experienceExperience with launch site communication systems to include data transport, operational voice, video, and networkingFamiliarity with Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) facilities, processes, providers, and operationsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Project and Visio applicationsFlexibility to support launch vehicle procedures, testing, and mission operations during non-standard business hours/days with the expectation to perform those duties over multiple attemptsPreferred Qualifications:Advanced education or specialized training in engineering, systems integration, aerospace operations, or related technical fieldsExperience supporting U.S. Space Force, Air Force Launch Enterprise programs, or other national security space missionsFamiliarity with systems engineering tools, mission assurance processes, and launch vehicle lifecycle activitiesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across organizations and contribute to technical decision forumsAbility to work both independently and in a team environment while maintaining a positive professional attitudeAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced operational environment and react to real-world system outages using critical thinking and troubleshooting skillsEffective communication skills with the ability to provide briefings to large groups and leadershipClearance Requirements:Must have an active SECRET security clearanceTS/SCI desiredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printerOften positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closetFrequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
