Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement a modern software framework for the F-35 Ground Systems Mission Planning Environment (MPE) project. The MPE is a critical component of the F-35 program, enabling all ground-based operations and playing a vital role in the successful execution of missions and overall operation of the aircraft.
As a member of the F-35 Ground Systems MPE Software team, the successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing software requirements, designing and developing software solutions, and testing and implementing software applications. This role requires a strong understanding of software development principles, technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding and apply industry techniques within their area of specialization, utilizing a range of concepts and principles to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity. They will work under periodic review for the adequacy of their judgement, overall accuracy, and quality, and will contribute to organizational projects and goals.
The candidate's responsibilities will include developing software solutions, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with immediate team members and some external contacts to ensure effective problem resolution. They will also be responsible for representing the team on specific projects, contributing to effective collaboration and problem resolution.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for analyzing user requirements, designing and developing software applications, and testing and implementing software solutions. They will participate in end-to-end integration activities, analyze system performance and functional standards, and implement algorithms to meet system requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess practical experience in software development, strong knowledge of software design principles and architecture styles, strong coding and technical skills, and excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities. They will demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions and driving technical excellence, and will contribute to the success of the F-35 Ground Systems MPE team.
As a Software Developer, the candidate will engage with immediate team members and some external contacts, contributing to effective collaboration and problem resolution. They will represent the team on specific projects, providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure the successful implementation of software solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
• ***Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and an interim Secret clearance to start.***
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
• This is a hands-on role that requires 1+ years of overall Software development experience
• Object oriented design and development experience
• Web-based design using ReactJS
• Ability to analyze problems and work with others to find practical solutions
• Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and leadership
• Desire for continuous learning self-improvement
Desired Skills:
• Experience in containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Mission Planning Environment (MPE)
• Proficient in scripting and automation tools (Ansible, Python, puppet, or Terraform)
• Experience in Test automation using Robot and Cypress frameworks.
• Working experience of cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
• Experience in DevSecOps, including CI/CD, with a strong understanding of security and compliance principles.
• Experience implementing and maintaining automation technologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) services
