- You will provide waterfront technical support to investigate malfunctions or faulty conditions on propulsion equipment and recommend corrective action.
- You will prepare and provide guidance for preparation of procedures for conducting tests on various equipment.
- You will prepare procedures/instructions as necessary to accomplish necessary work.
- You will review shop reports submitted by the shops as a result of equipment test or overhaul.
- You will provide technical guidance for the preparation of and prepares the lists of working plans required to execute and consummate complex projects.
- You will originate or review groups technical correspondence with other shipyards, private contractors, other activities concerning work under his cognizance for the purpose of obtaining or disseminating information, or making recommendations.

Qualifications

- Experience preparing and providing technical guidance for preparation of procedures, technical adequacy, accuracy, and timely execution of complex mechanical design projects.
- Experience evaluating and applying the latest developments and techniques in solving problems not readily treatable by traditional or accepted.
- Experience performing as technical authority on a full range of shipboard mechanical systems and components, through knowledge of methods, capabilities, skills, and facilities available in the various shops for accomplishing installation and maintenance of ships/submarines overhaul and repairs.
