Koniag Management Solutions (KMS) is seeking a detail-oriented ServiceNow Test Engineer to ensure the quality, functionality, and reliability of our ServiceNow platform through comprehensive testing strategies and quality assurance practices. This role is responsible for designing and executing test plans, automating test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality ServiceNow solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of ServiceNow, testing expertise, and a passion for quality assurance with experience in both manual and automated testing methodologies.
The ServiceNow Test Engineer will work closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to validate ServiceNow configurations, customizations, and integrations. This individual will establish testing standards, create comprehensive test scenarios, and ensure all ServiceNow deliverables meet functional requirements and quality standards before production deployment.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for ServiceNow applications and modules
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across ServiceNow platform
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF)
  • Validate ServiceNow configurations including workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and catalog items
  • Test ServiceNow integrations with third-party systems
  • Identify, document, and track defects using ServiceNow or similar bug tracking tool
  • Conduct performance and load testing to identify bottlenecks and optimize platform performance
  • Validate ServiceNow platform upgrades, patches, and release deployments
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot defects
  • Create and maintain test data sets for various testing scenarios
  • Review requirements and technical specifications to ensure testability
  • Participate in requirement analysis and provide QA input during design phase
  • Perform smoke testing and sanity testing after deployment
  • Execute accessibility testing to ensure Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) compliance
  • Validate security configurations and access controls
  • Document test results, metrics, and quality reports for stakeholders
  • Participate in release planning and provide QA estimates
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and standards
  • Support change management activities related to ServiceNow implementation & user adoption

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing
  • At least 2-3 years of hands-on ServiceNow testing experience
  • Proven experience with manual and automated testing methodologies
  • Experience testing ServiceNow ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog)
  • Practical experience creating and executing test cases and test plans
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform functionality and architecture
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) for test automation
  • Experience with various testing types (functional, regression, integration, UAT, smoke testing)
  • Understanding of ServiceNow development components (workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies)
  • Knowledge of REST/SOAP API testing and tools (Postman, SoapUI, REST clients)
  • Familiarity with test management & defect tracking tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Zephyr, qTest, or similar)
  • Knowledge of SQL and database querying for data validation
  • Understanding of ServiceNow tables, forms, and data relationships
  • Experience with ServiceNow update sets and application deployment testing
  • Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON)
  • Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing abilities
  • Effective communication skills for reporting defects and collaborating with teams
  • Critical thinking skills to identify edge cases and potential issues
  • Team collaboration skills with developers and business analysts
  • Time management skills to meet release deadlines

Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Understanding of ServiceNow ITOM modules (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management)
  • Experience testing ServiceNow custom applications and scoped apps
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow Flow Designer and workflow testing
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub)
  • Familiarity with Agile testing tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
  • Understanding of microservices and API architecture testing
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and configuration management testing
  • Additional testing certifications (ISTQB Advanced, CSTE, CSQA)
  • Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics and reporting validation
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow Service Portal and mobile application testing
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow IntegrationHub and spoke testing
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment testing
  • Agile/Scrum certifications (CSPO, PSM, A-CSPO)
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Experience in test strategy development and QA process improvement
  • Background in business analysis or requirements gathering
  • Prior government consulting experience

Travel:
  • Minimal travel required (less than 10%)
