PRIMARY FUNCTION
Platform Aerospace is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, improve accounting procedures, ensure compliance with government contracting requirements, and support financial reporting. This role will supervise day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable. They will also assist with month-end close processes, and maintain accurate financial records.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Platform Aerospace is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, improve accounting procedures, ensure compliance with government contracting requirements, and support financial reporting. This role will supervise day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable. They will also assist with month-end close processes, and maintain accurate financial records.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise accounting team and daily operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Responsible for the successful operations of key accounting functions for the organization.
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal customers regarding AP and Payroll matters
- Liaison with the Contracts team for the successful billing and collections of all corporate receivables
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and internal controls to ensure compliance with internal and external auditors.
- Operate corporate systems in compliance with IRS, FAR, DFARS, and other government contracting regulations.
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with program managers and finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and project cost analysis.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal tax requirements related to payroll and business operations.
- Support audits (DCAA, external, internal) and respond to inquiries promptly.
- Performs other duties as necessary and/or required
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience with Costpoint/Deltek ERP systems (required).
- Experience with ADP (required)
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of government contracting accounting practices (FAR/DFARS compliance).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and payroll processes.
- Familiarity with indirect rate structures and cost allocation methods.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of office materials up to 20 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for keyboard and office equipment use.
- Visual acuity to review detailed financial documents and reports.
