Torch Technologies is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Business Unit Deputy-a Senior Manager-level position. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of Space, Missile Defense, and Joint Operations by driving strategic growth, building new partnerships, and supporting operational excellence across the services and other departments. At Torch, you'll join a mission-driven team focused on supporting the warfighter while working in an environment that values innovation, collaboration, and the unique contributions of every employee-owner.

As a Sr. Manager- Business Unit Deputy your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Business Development (Primary): Identify and pursue new business opportunities in alignment with business unit and corporate goals. Establish and develop relationships in key space and operational theater markets to drive expansion and revenue growth. Prepare to lead proposal efforts.
  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Business Unit Director and senior leadership to define long-term objectives, guide strategic planning efforts, and lead execution across multiple mission domains.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, strategic initiative, competitive landscape, and emerging threats to inform business strategy and ensure Torch remains a leading-edge provider.
  • Partnership & Alliance Building: Support evaluations of potential strategic partners, acquisition targets, alliances, and joint ventures to enhance the company's position in current and emerging markets.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the performance of multidisciplinary teams supporting Army, Space Force, DoW, and other organizations across multiple US locations. Provide mentorship, professional development in alignment with company values and strategic objectives.
  • Customer Success & Execution: Collaborate with division managers to ensure program areas meet customer expectations, maintain quality deliverables, and stay aligned with project goals.
  • Culture & Leadership: Promote a culture of ownership, teamwork, and accountability consistent with Torch's employee-owned model.


Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Army, Space, and/or Missile Systems. Demonstrated success in strategic planning, business development, and team leadership within defense-related programs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW TS/SCI clearance.
  • Advanced management or executive training preferred. Strong capabilities in program management, personnel leadership, organizational development, B&P, and P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success in critical thinking and problem solving.
