Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a System Administrator/LAN Technician who will provide key support for the GCCS-J System Administration Training Program at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS.
Job Description:
- Provide required services on all computer systems within the GCCS-J training area, including but not limited to:
- Adding, installing, maintaining, configuring, and removing system hardware/software.
- Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing system hardware, software, and LAN connections.
- Performing backups and implementing necessary system security protections
- Developing and maintaining Software Media Libraries, system administration procedures, command and control Facility Support Plan (FSP), equipment inventories and maintenance logs.
- Attend and participate in Government meetings, conferences, and technical exchange. meetings.
- Review and make recommendations concerning regulatory compliance and changes in system hardware configuration.
- Maintain systems "red line" drawings, cable records, terminal locations, and specific LAN connectivity configuration.
- Perform Information Technology Equipment Custodian (ITEC) duties for all GCCS-J accountable IT assets.
Qualifications
- Must have Five (5) years of current experience, within the last five (5) years, as a System Administrator.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have experience as a technician with installation of Local Area Networks (LAN) and associated Network Infrastructure equipment (i.e switches, repeaters, cabling, etc)
- Must Be familiar with and use test equipment such as multimeters and cable testers.
- Must be Knowledgeable on installation, monitoring and troubleshooting of computer/server hardware
- Must be Knowledgeable on installation of computer software to include Windows and RHEL Operating Systems.
- Must be Knowledgeable on backup and recovery procedures for computers/servers.
- Must have the ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment, be detailed orientated, and self-motivated.
- Must have strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or under limited supervision.
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Global Command and Control System is preferred
- Strong background in computer/server hardware is preferred.
- Manufacturer's certification or technical training is highly desirable.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
- Experience in creating software packages for the IT equipment used in the classrooms and Mobile Training Kits is preferred.
- Cyber Workforce Role 451 Qualifications are preferred.
- Security + or CASP or CCSP or CCNP is preferred.
- Current Passport is strongly preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD "Secret" security clearance.
- Must be a US Citizen with a valid Driver's License.
Travel Requirements:
- Attend Technical Working Group conferences as directed by the Training Program Manager.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, & kneel up to 75% of the time.
- Repetitive motion, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, and visual acuity (depth perception).
