Job Title: Lead Scrum Master / Agile Coach

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Scrum Master / Agile Coach to support a large-scale program within the Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal Civilian customer base. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience guiding agile teams, fostering continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to Agile and Scrum principles across multiple teams and programs.
As the Lead Scrum Master, you will serve as both a coach and facilitator—helping teams mature in their agile practices, removing impediments to progress, and promoting alignment with enterprise-level objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and guide Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum framework values, principles, and practices.
Lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Serve as a coach and mentor to Scrum Masters and Agile teams to enhance performance and delivery.
Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure clear product vision, backlog prioritization, and continuous value delivery.
Identify and remove team impediments that hinder progress or productivity.
Facilitate decision-making, conflict resolution, and alignment among cross-functional teams.
Monitor Agile metrics and performance indicators to assess team health and drive improvements.
Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across teams and the broader organization.
Support Agile transformation and scaling initiatives within the organization (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, or other frameworks).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience).
Active Secret Clearance (required).
Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP) certification required.
10+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or equivalent role supporting large, complex programs within the DoD or Federal Civilian sector.
Proven experience mentoring multiple teams and leading Agile transformations.
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, scaling methodologies, and software development lifecycle processes.
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and drive change.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Kanban, or other Agile methodologies.
Additional certifications such as SAFe SPC, PMP-ACP, or CSPO.
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
