Systems Engineer
Location: Quantico, VA

This position supports the United States Marine Corps’ Program Executive Office Land Systems (PEO LS). An acquisition System Engineer II involves analyzing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) designs and production validation test results to ensure compliance with design specifications and requirements. As a hybrid position, you will be expected to be in the office per the government’s requirements, but normally 3-4 days a week. This job may require some travel.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Project Officer and Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) through all phases of the acquisition lifecycle from requirements development through operations and support, implementing DoD acquisition and life-cycle management policies and procedures. Provide support and manage all aspects of System Engineering, and some Test & Evaluation (T&E), policies and procedures of the System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process.
- Coordinate with various internal & external stakeholders in functional areas such as systems engineering, test and evaluation, and cybersecurity in support of program efforts.
- Prepare, review, and revise acquisition documentation applicable to the program through all phases of the acquisition cycle (e.g. TRDPs, TRAPs, Systems Engineering Plans, T&E Management Plans, Test Plans, Test Reports, SVDs, SSDDs, SyVDs, etc.).
- Analyze OEM Design, Engineering, and Production Validation test results to verify product compliance with design specifications.
- Collaborate on software development projects with a focus on interoperability and system evaluation.
- Conduct test evaluations to ensure products meet required standards and specifications.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure the integration of software with hardware systems and maintain product quality.
- Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation and reports.

Requirements

- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in commercial software development, system interoperability, and test evaluation.
- Familiarity with DODAF architecture frameworks and cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in DoD or aerospace industry software engineering.
- Familiarity with systems integration and OEM analysis.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity practices within a DoD environment.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
Light to moderate lifting may be required.
Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
