The Software Architect (Expert) is the principal technical authority responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving secure, scalable, and robust data analytics and application solutions across a diverse portfolio of federal enterprise IT systems supporting mission-critical government operations. Familiarity with implementation of Automation, Autonomy and AI will be key for this position. This senior-level position requires a visionary technologist who can translate complex business requirements into elegant architectural solutions while ensuring alignment with federal security standards, cloud-native principles, and enterprise modernization strategies through the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management (FedSIM) contract vehicle. The Senior Software Architect will lead architectural design efforts spanning cloud platforms, microservices architectures, data analytics pipelines, API ecosystems, and enterprise integration patterns while maintaining accountability for technical excellence, security compliance, performance optimization, and long-term system sustainability across multiple federal agency environments. Wi ll design and implement secure, scalable, and robust data analytics and application solutions for the ARNG portfolio; develop and maintain business, systems, and information processes to support enterprise mission needs; and develop IT rules and requirements that describe baseline and target architectures.
This role demands exceptional breadth and depth of technical expertise to navigate the complexities of federal IT modernization including FedRAMP-authorized cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government), containerized architectures (Kubernetes, Docker), serverless computing, event-driven systems, and hybrid cloud deployments. As the primary architectural authority for enterprise business systems, data platforms, and application ecosystems, the Senior Software Architect will establish and enforce architectural principles, design standards, technology selection criteria, and development best practices while fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and engineering discipline. This individual must demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities to address complex architectural challenges.

Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience & Skills:
- 8 or more years of progressive experience in software development, with a minimum of three or more years in a software or data architecture role
- AWS certified Solutions Architect or comparable cert
- Hands-on experience with data analytics technologies, including data warehousing, extract, transform, load (ETL) tools, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Possess an ITIL® 4 certification with the Managing Professional Framework or higher.
- Possess the appropriate certifications to achieve DoDM 8140.03 qualification requirements for the DCWF work role 651.
- 5 years experience managing global WAN
- Skills:
- Active DoD TS with eligibility for SCI
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification
- Behavior Framework:
• Demonstrates expertise in cybersecurity operations and management
• Exhibits strong leadership and communication skills
