Title: Project Management Lead

Location: Ability to report to either Alexandria, VA or Seaside, CA.

About this position:

iWorks is seeking a Project Management Lead to support the Cyber PRIMES program. This role provides project planning, execution oversight, governance support, and documentation leadership across all workstreams. The Project Management Lead ensures all contract tasks follow structured and repeatable processes aligned with DHRA/DMDC governance and the DMDC Enterprise Project Management Tool (Project Server).

Salary Range: 120k - 200k Commensurate with position title, skills, experience, location, and qualifications

On a day-to-day basis, you will:
  • Lead development of all project management artifacts, including project charters, schedules, RMPs, communication plans, and closure reports.
  • Maintain real-time project tracking using the DMDC Enterprise Project Management Tool (Project Server).
  • Coordinate closely with technical teams delivering cybersecurity monitoring, DevSecOps , incident response, privacy, and records management operations.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate , compliant, and organized per DMDC SOPs.
  • Track risks, issues, and dependencies; conduct recurring weekly risk review sessions.
  • Ensure the Monthly Status Report (MSR) includes required elements such as milestone progress, AQL performance, risk posture, staffing updates, and trend analyses.
  • Prepare leadership briefings summarizing schedule health, risks, and decision points.
  • Ensure project alignment with DHRA IT governance (Appendix B), including all required gates, documentation, and approvals.
  • Serve as the senior functional expert in planning, execution, scheduling, and governance across all Cyber PRIMES project workstreams.

  • Required Education/Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical , business, or financial discipline; or 10+ years of progressively complex project management experience.
    • Active DoD Secret clearance .
    • Certifications:
      • CompTIA Security+
      • Project Management Professional (PMP)
      • ITIL Foundation Certification
    • Experience leading complex DoD or federal IT projects.
    • Strong understanding of DHRA or DoD IT governance frameworks.
    • Expertise using MS Project Server or comparable enterprise project management tools.
    • Knowledge of RMF, cybersecurity operations, privacy, and/or records management.
    • Demonstrated ability to track, manage, and report milestones across multiple functional areas.
    • Alignment with DCWF Work Role 802 - IT Project Manager (Advanced).

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Agile, or Scrum certifications.
    • Familiarity with DHRA/DMDC environments, governance processes, and eMASS workflows.
