Senior Software Engineer

Location: Merrifield, VA (Onsite - USPS Engineering Systems)

MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is supporting a long-term, multi-year engagement with the U.S. Postal Service-and we're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the USPS Software Engineering team in Merrifield, VA.

As an MBA CSi employee, you'll work onsite at USPS Engineering Systems Headquarters, designing and delivering modern, enterprise-scale solutions that re-engineer and enhance mission-critical USPS systems. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys modernizing legacy platforms with proven, scalable technologies.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and support multi-tiered web and console-based applications using C# and .NET
• Build high-performance database solutions using SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Develop and maintain web services to support system integrations
• Support production environment setup, deployments, and application implementations on servers
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions

What You Bring

• 8+ years of hands-on experience across:
  • C#, ASP.NET, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3
  • Web application development, unit testing, LINQ
  • SQL and Oracle PL/SQL
• Deep expertise with the .NET Framework, including ASP.NET, ASMX, WCF Web Services, and ADO.NET
• Experience deploying applications on IIS, including certificate management
• Proven ability to write and tune complex SQL queries
• 2-4 years working in Linux environments (scripting preferred)
• 2+ years supporting Oracle 19c in a multi-user production environment
• Experience developing across Windows and Linux platforms
• 3+ years building large-scale, integrated enterprise applications
• Strong experience writing and maintaining batch jobs
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment

Education

• Bachelor's degree (preferably Computer Science) from an accredited university
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience
