As part of the EASS eCMS program supporting modernization and sustainment of VA acquisition systems, the UI/UX Specialist designs intuitive, accessible, user-centered interfaces that enhance user experience across enterprise applications. This role conducts user research, develops prototypes, evaluates usability, and collaborates with functional and technical teams to ensure consistent, accessible, and effective user experiences.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design UI concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and visual layouts.
• Conduct user research, workflow assessments, and usability analysis.
• Translate requirements into intuitive, user-centered design solutions.
• Document user flows, interaction patterns, and UI specifications for development teams.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, testers, and accessibility specialists.
• Ensure accessibility compliance and inclusive design throughout UI/UX activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to refine UI needs and review functionality.
• Conduct usability validations and provide design feedback.
• Maintain consistency of visual design elements and interaction standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Minimum of five (5) years of UI/UX design or human-centered design experience.
• Strong experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and design artifacts.
• Ability to analyze workflows and recommend usability improvements.
• Strong communication, documentation, and design-reasoning skills.
• Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of accessibility principles and inclusive design.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Familiarity with environments built on Azure, .NET, SQL Server, IIS, and related VA enterprise technologies.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
CLEARANCE:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Remote
