As part of the EASS eCMS program supporting modernization and sustainment of VA acquisition systems, the Training Specialist / Instructional Designer develops instructional materials and delivers training that supports user readiness for system enhancements, new features, and process updates. This role ensures training content is accurate, accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with stakeholder needs and system behavior.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop instructional training materials including guides, presentations, videos, job aids, and demos.

• Deliver virtual and instructor-led training sessions for diverse user groups.

• Collaborate with SMEs, analysts, and technical staff to gather training requirements and validate content.

• Update training materials to reflect system or workflow changes introduced by new releases.

• Ensure training materials meet accessibility standards and readability expectations.

• Maintain version control and organization of training assets.

• Coordinate training logistics including schedules, communications, and attendance tracking.

• Gather user feedback and integrate improvements into future training iterations.

• Maintain structured repositories of training content for user access.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Minimum of five (5) years of instructional design or training development experience.

• Experience creating clear, engaging, user-focused instructional content.

• Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.

• Ability to translate system features and workflows into structured instructional materials.

• Strong organizational and documentation capabilities.

• Experience supporting training in iterative release environments.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:

• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs.

• Familiarity with environments built on Azure, .NET, SQL Server, IIS, and related VA enterprise technologies.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

CLEARANCE:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

WORK LOCATION:

• Remote
