As part of the EASS eCMS program supporting modernization and sustainment of VA acquisition systems, the Test Engineer designs and executes functional, integration, regression, and acceptance tests to validate application behavior, workflows, and data accuracy. This role identifies defects, ensures requirements traceability, and collaborates with development and business teams to ensure high-quality releases.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, scripts, and test data for functional and integration testing.
• Execute test cycles, document outcomes, and log defects with accurate severity and reproducibility details.
• Validate system workflows, user interactions, data outputs, and integration points.
• Conduct regression testing and verify fixes across iterative development cycles.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and system engineers to clarify requirements and test expectations.
• Prepare test documentation including test results, traceability matrices, and test summary reports.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, and reviews) to support continuous testing.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and validate stakeholder feedback.
• Assess testing impacts related to system enhancements, workflow changes, and integration updates.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Minimum of five (5) years of software testing or QA engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, and acceptance testing processes.
• Ability to analyze system workflows and determine expected behaviors.
• Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience supporting iterative testing within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management practices.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools or frameworks.
• Understanding of integration testing and test data management.
• Familiarity with environments built on Azure, .NET, SQL Server, IIS, and related VA enterprise technologies.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
CLEARANCE:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Remote
