Description
SAIC is seeking an Exercise Scenario Manager located at Camp Smith in Hawaii to support USINDOPACOM J7 to lead the development and implementation of training scenarios throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) and Command Post Exercises (CPX) execution of designated exercises directed by Theater Exercises Branch.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Support the J7 Branch Chief by designing and managing realistic scenarios informed by research on real-world military and geopolitical landscapes and input from SMEs for Level 1 Theater Exercises, including PACIFIC SENTRY and KEEN EDGE.
• Guide a team of U.S. and Allied military and interagency personnel in designing a comprehensive, realistic, months-long scenario.
• Prepare and brief senior leadership and the Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) on scenario-related topics during planning conferences throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).
• Oversee the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) development, manage the Opposing Force (OPFOR) scheme of maneuver, and ensure scenario progression alignment with the Exercise Director's intent during CPX execution.
• Produce exercise orders (such as PLANORD, WARNORD), and integrate kinetic and non-kinetic processes into training, exercise, rehearsal, testing, and experimentation events.
• Conduct independent research on emergent geopolitical dynamics within the USINDOPACOM AOR, facilitate briefings, identify organizational strengths and gaps, utilize information and knowledge management best practices, and support international travel for exercise planning and execution with foreign Allies and Partners (approximately 10% of the year).
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors and ten (10)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years' experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) I or equivalent.
• Experience working in a Joint headquarters with military exercise planning.
• Basic understanding of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) and associated requirements to both plan and execute Theater-level Command Post Exercises (CPX).
• Experience researching complex military and geopolitical topics in order to enhance scenario design.
• Ability to lead components in the planning and execution of JELC events, work plans, seminars, and war games.
• Familiarity with the USINDOPACOM mission and area of responsibility.
• Experience with professional writing, to include proofreading and editing organizational directives, orders, policies, instructions, and technical documents.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
• Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Must have current US Citizenship.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
