NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Windows Server Lead with substantial Windows Server Administration knowledge and experience supporting IT systems in a professional environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working independently to install, operate, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and repair IT systems devices with experience in the development of management of project plans, task performance reviews with emphasis on product correctness, user requirements and schedule satisfaction. Certification(s) in respective areas are required.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for directing technical work on projects. Performs a variety of analyses and prepares appropriate documentation.
• Prepares and makes briefings and presentations.
• Leads team in on-site management of installations. Works independently and installs, operates, maintains, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs IT systems devices, circuits, cables, components, software, and end-user devices, components, software, and connectivity.
• Assists in the development and management of project plans. This includes the review of task performance and work products for correctness, for adherence to design concepts and user requirements, and for progress in accordance with schedules.
• Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.

Desired/Required Skills:
• Active Department of Defense Secret (SSBI) level security clearance required.
• 8570.01-M Baseline Certification: One of the following Google Cloud Platform: Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Google Professional Cloud Architect required
• One of the following certifications required: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations, Red Hat Certified Engineer, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator.
• Seven (7) years’ of progressive IT experience
• Five (5) years’ hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) IT hosting solutions.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Server operating systems 2016 and newer
• Hands-on experience with commercial cloud provider hosting solutions (i.e. Google, Microsoft Azure, AWS, OCI) and associated relevant industry certifications.
• Experience integrating Windows environment with cloud services
• Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Experience implementing and sustaining Automation capabilities including writing IaC such as Terraform and PowerShell to support and complete administrative tasks
• Proficient with Microsoft System Center/MECM for management and patching
• Expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex performance issues related to CPU, memory, disk I/O, and networking
• Proficient implementing and maintaining DoD security compliance including server hardening, applying DISA STIGs, patching, and auditing
• Experience designing and architecting enterprise level solutions across both Windows and Linux environments
• Proficiency and understanding of network fundamentals, VPNs, firewalls, and remote access solutions, and being fully competent to configure network settings
• Has demonstrated strong communication and collaborations skills that shows ability to perform in high pressure situations and has experience handling critical business incidents in professional manner with adaptability and resilience to unexpected challenges both calmly and efficiently
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
