Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an exciting career opportunity for a Weapons Integration System Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located Edwards AFB.
Position Overview:
The Weapons Integration Engineer will work with a variety of test disciplines in an Combined Test Force (CTF) environment, as well as various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to complete tasks related to testing, and sustainment of aircraft weapon systems. This selected candidate will be self-motivated and have an interest in the functional design-integration of weapon systems and flight testing of fighter aircraft.
Functional design-integration requires in-depth technical knowledge of Stores Management System (SMS) / Suspension and Release Equipment (S&RE) - related hardware and software, as well as knowledge of governing standards such as MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, Universal Armament Interface (UAI), etc., for the ability to carry and employ weapons. It also requires broad knowledge of overall aircraft subsystems and how they are used by the pilots and maintainers.

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Work from engineering specifications such as software requirements packages, Interface Control Documents, Performance Based Specifications, Architecture drawings, and other Engineering Instructions or technical data.
- Work with a variety of test disciplines in an Combined Test Force (CTF) environment, as well as various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to complete tasks related to design, testing, and sustainment of aircraft weapon systems. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
- Communicate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities, and communicate technical capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers (government customers and company leadership).
- Support test-planning activities related to weapons ground and flight-test missions.
- Support missions via real-time control room monitoring, as well as post-flight data analysis/troubleshooting and report generation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain control room qualification
- Perform Weapon System checkouts and updating procedures for maintenance.
- Assist in sustainment activities of production aircraft by providing remote or on-site support to deployed squadrons in troubleshooting weapon-system issues.
