The Work
We are committed to work life balance by promoting this HYBRID TELEWORK opportunity. These job requirements allow the employee to work at a Lockheed Martin-designated office or job site for part of their schedule and has a predefined regular, recurring telework schedule for the remaining part of their work schedule.
This Mechanical Engineering position is for design, analysis, documentation, test and fleet support associated with Antisubmarine Warfare programs with Lockheed Martin.
Areas of responsibilities will typically include:
1) Supporting the Mechanical and HW lead on Project planning, cost and schedule estimating, Program meetings with customer, scope creep management and weekly priorities.
2) Supporting system level solid modeling, assembly level solid modeling, bill-of-material management. Experience with solid modeling CAD tools will be required Creo (ProEngineer) and EPDM (Parts Lists) a plus.
3) Supporting Conceptual, Preliminary and Detailed component solid modeling and design, including assembly and piece part manufacturing drawings, parts lists, cable harness design, and engineering change support. This includes program planning from a cost, technical and schedule perspective, structural and thermal analysis, trade studies, cost analysis, drawing generation and documentation release, and environmental qualification testing.
4) Interfacing with other disciplines, such as Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, and Quality will be key to ensuring customer requirements are being met.
5) Providing production support through resolving manufacturing issues and processing Change Notices, redlines, and other documentation.
6) Performing Structural and/or Thermal Analysis as needed, and being able to present results to the Mechanical Lead and the HW Lead.
7) Experience with Environmental Qualification Planning, Procedures, Test Support, and Test Reports.

Basic Qualifications:
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn a variety of new skills and tools.
• Experience with Design and Documentation of mechanical parts and assemblies including model based designs, drawings, parts list and manufacturing support material.
• Experience in collaborative engineering environments and the design/lifecycle process, including conceptual/preliminary and detail design stages, manufacturability, documentation, and build & test support.
• Knowledge of CAD modeling and drafting, mechanical design. Computer proficiency.
• Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
• Detailed experience in mechanical and/or electrical design, drafting, assembly, testing, tracking metrics, change management, or data repositories is a plus.
• PTC CREO experience (for Solid Modeling and Drafting) would be a plus.
• EPDM experience (for Bills of Material and configuration management) would be a plus.
• Experience with production support and Problem Reports / Change notices.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and tolerance analysis
• Experience with Mil-Specs and standards
• Analysis experience in the following programs a plus: ANSYS (Workbench, Mechanical, CFX, Fluent); FEMAP/NASTRAN

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
