You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) team. Our group delivers high quality missile and launch pod designs, updates technical data packages, and supports production to meet demanding customer requirements.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for driving GMLRS and LCRRPR missile pod technical data package updates and completing program related tasks for SR GMLRS. You'll work closely with Stress Analysis, Materials & Processes, Test, Production, and senior Mechanical Engineers, initially under guidance and quickly moving toward independent ownership. The role is based in Grand Prairie, TX with up to 50 % telecommuting.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Update and release engineering drawings, models, and specifications for GMLRS and launch pod systems.
• Maintain and improve the GMLRS Technical Data Package (TDP) to support low rate production.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (stress, materials, test, production) to resolve design issues and ensure manufacturability.
• Conduct design reviews, generate clear briefing materials, and communicate status to leadership.
• Perform root cause analysis of field reported problems and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices to elevate team performance.

Further Information About This Opportunity:
This position is in Grand Prairie, TX.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong performance as an individual contributor
• Familiarity with supporting functions including Quality, Stress Analysis, Production Operations
• Geometric Dimension and Tolerance experience
• Missile or Rocket program experience is preferred but not required
Desired Skills:
• Proficiency in PTC Creo for part and assembly design, and Windchill for managing engineering data and documentation.
• Previous experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, particularly in a production setting.
• Familiarity with the transition from development to production, including the resolution of design issues and optimization for mass production.
• Experience in mechanical design (preferably production phase) in aerospace or a similar industry.
• Prior experience with Lockheed Martin programs or similar defense contractors is a plus.
• Experience in working with, and providing technical oversight, to subcontracted suppliers

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
