As part of the EASS eCMS program supporting modernization and sustainment of VA acquisition systems, the DevSecOps Engineer builds, maintains, and enhances automated CI/CD pipelines that integrate security scanning, testing, and deployment processes. This role supports secure development practices, automation workflows, environment consistency, and reliable delivery across cloud-hosted enterprise applications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines supporting automated builds, tests, scans, and deployments.


  • Support environment configuration, provisioning automation, and pipeline logic.


  • Diagnose and resolve build failures, deployment issues, and configuration conflicts.


  • Collaborate with development, QA, security, and operations teams to streamline DevSecOps workflows.


  • Enhance pipeline performance, reliability, and security coverage.


  • Support modernization initiatives such as cloud adoption, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code.


  • Document DevSecOps processes, environment configurations, and automation standards.


  • Support release readiness, deployment validation, and post-release monitoring.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of DevSecOps , CI/CD automation, or pipeline engineering experience.


  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD platforms.


  • Experience integrating automated testing and security scanning into pipelines.


  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to builds, dependencies, and environment configuration.


  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).


  • Strong documentation abilities and cross-team collaboration experience.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:

  • Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs.


  • Experience with container orchestration, IaC , or Kubernetes.


  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and security tooling.


  • Understanding of DevSecOps governance and continuous compliance.


  • Experience working in environments built on Azure, .NET, SQL Server, IIS, and related VA enterprise technologies.


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.


CLEARANCE:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Remote
