As the IT Operations Project Manager, you will lead IT operations for an experienced team supporting critical government infrastructure across multiple secure customer networks. You will manage Network Administration, System Administration, and Help Desk teams while serving as the primary operational interface with government customers. You will work closely with the Program Manager to drive operational excellence, own incident response and service delivery, and shape IT strategy in a mission-critical DoD environment. You will have autonomy with direct decision-making authority for operational approvals, emergency response, and resource management. Epsilon is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $165,000.00/Yr. - USD $216,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. You will also regularly interact with government customers, senior leadership, and internal technical teams to ensure successful operational execution. Additionally, in this role you will:
- Own day-to-day IT operations across multiple customer networks and locations, maintaining system availability, performance, and SLA compliance
- Lead incident response and problem resolution, coordinating cross-functional teams to restore critical services
- Responsible for operational efficiency initiatives and implementing ITIL best practices (Incident, Problem, Change, Event Management)
- Directly manages operational teams including section leads for Network Administration, System Administration, and Help Desk
- Build strong teams through performance management, staff development, training programs, and on-call rotation management
- Act as primary operational point of contact for government customers, delivering responsive service and issue resolution
- Communicate service status, outage updates, and resolutions directly to government stakeholders
- Partner with Program Manager on strategic initiatives while maintaining operational autonomy for day-to-day execution
- Oversee capacity planning, infrastructure forecasting, and IT asset lifecycle management
- Develop operational processes, runbooks, and standard operating procedures to improve delivery
- Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity readiness through regular testing and continuous improvement
- Oversee the integration of new IT systems, tools, and technologies, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations and adherence to best practices.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between IT teams and project stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and continuous support of operational systems.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Program Manager(s).
- Serve as a liaison between team members, the Program Manager, and Customer project managers.
- Support the recruiting and hiring processes (review candidate resumes, coordinate interviews, etc.).
- Responsible for the creation and tracking of project deliverables, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Responsible for the development of requirements for their project(s), and adherence to those requirements throughout project execution and delivery.
- Responsible for the creation of, and adherence to, project budget and schedules.
- Responsible for identification, documentation, management, and escalation of all project risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Assist with the creation and tracking of program deliverables, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
- Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.
Qualifications
- As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
- Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of IT operations management experience in government or enterprise environments, or equivalent combination
- 5-7 years of hands-on technical experience in at least two areas: network administration, system administration, cybersecurity operations, or enterprise help desk support
- 2-3 years of managing technical teams with direct supervisory responsibility
- Track record managing complex IT operations in government or DoD environments
- Strong communication skills with ability to interface effectively with government customers and senior leadership
- Leadership experience managing diverse technical teams and driving operational excellence
- ITIL framework and IT service management experience
- Must be able to travel to various Company locations and/or Customer sites across the United States for meetings and onsite visits, as needed by the Company/Customer. Expected out of area travel: 10%.
