Overview

Nakupuna Prime is seeking a Network Storage Engineer to support the Army Human Resources Command. We are actively staffing contingent positions with a start date during the contract transition phase between December 12-26, 2025. The Network Storage Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting enterprise storage infrastructure and network-attached storage (SAN/NAS) systems. This role ensures reliable, performant, and secure storage services across the organization by overseeing storage hardware, provisioning, data protection, replication, and connectivity. The Network Storage Engineer works closely with network, server, virtualization, and application teams to maintain resilient storage environments and support ongoing business and mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
  • Install, configure, patch, monitor, and manage storage systems, including SAN/NAS devices in a mix of network
  • Provision storage resources, create LUNs, manage shares, and configure access controls based on organizational requirements.
  • Perform continuous optimization and performance testing that incorporates physically attached and virtual servers, storage arrays, and other related components
  • Develop, implement, and maintain scripts and/or procedures to enable process automation of routine support tasks for storage and backup
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution as needed; work with other system owners to resolve communication and access issues
  • Maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations, procedures, topology diagrams, and runbooks.
  • Contribute to improvement of storage policies, processes, and automation efforts to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging storage technologies, cloud integration capabilities, and best practices.


Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must be self-motivated, pay close attention to detail, and have good oral and written communication skills. Additional certifications may be required as prescribed by DoDD 8140 (e.g., Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CASP CE).

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience desired.

Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.

Work Location: Fort Knox, Kentucky. Telework may be authorized once approved by the Government.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
