Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Architect. This position designs and oversees the technical architecture of web applications, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and high-performance. This role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions, leading development teams, creating architectural blueprints, and collaborating with stakeholders to align technology with business goals. Responsibilities include technical leadership, performance assessment, mentoring junior staff, and staying current with emerging web technologies.

Details
Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Responsibilities include technical leadership, performance assessment, mentoring junior staff, and staying current with emerging web technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document the high-level structure of web applications, including front-end and back-end systems
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineering teams, ensuring adherence to architectural guidelines and best practices
- Performance and Scalability: Ensure systems are built for scalability and optimal performance through assessments and improvements
- Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into robust technical solutions
- Research and evaluate emerging web technologies to determine their potential impact and recommend adoption when appropriate
- Partner with various teams, including development, IT, and business staff, to ensure successful project implementation and alignment with strategic goals
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation, such as system diagrams and design specifications
- Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues, diagnose problems, and provide solutions

- 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years with HS Diploma
- Must be a US Citizen
- Experience in system architect job roles or equivalent years of experience
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
- Primary work locations in Tacoma, WA, Aurora, CO, San Antonio, TX, and Falls Church, VA. Remote work may be considered in special cases when approved by the customer.
- Extensive experience in assessing, designing, developing, and deploying large web applications
- Strong knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Proficiency with web development technologies, such as JavaScript, and various frameworks (e.g., Flask, SocketIO)
- Experience with cloud platforms and tools like Docker, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with system monitoring and logging platforms (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk)
- Experience in creating technical documentation
- Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks is often beneficial
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working within Military Health environments is a plus
