The Signals Reconnaissance family of programs supports the C4ISR Line of Business (Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) as well as Independent Research and Development (IRAD) efforts.
These systems demand development of advanced software solutions as well as Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems, and information technology related responsibilities including design, development, and analysis of computer systems or programs based on and related to user or system design specifications; applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. As a Project Engineer Staff, you will be responsible for managing projects under the the Sig Recon umbrella focused on our MSCS product line.
You will be responsible for coordinating the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of complex engineering projects within your assigned area of responsibility. This includes:
• Planning and formulating Project Management Baselines for new projects
• Responsible for active Control Account Management (CAM) and Earn Value Management (EVM)
• Responsible for managing the Cost, Schedule, and Technical execution of multiple contracts
• Ensuring compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
• Coordinating activities concerned with technical development, scheduling of product installation, and resolving engineering design and test problems
• Tasking, reviewing, and ensuring training of team members

Who You Are:
The typical Project Engineer Staff has Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience, 7 years of experience with a master's degree, or equivalent combined experience and education.

• Solid understanding of Control Account Management (CAM) responsibilities, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and managing performance metrics.

• Possess strong customer relationship management skills to include outreach and communications experience

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

• Strong understanding of scheduling and planning to meet contractual milestones and deliverables

• Advanced understanding and wide application of project management principles, theories, and concepts in the field

• Excellent leadership skills and strong willingness to engage and understand the technical product baseline
Desired Skills:
• Previous experience with the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) system or other Air Force or ISR programs

• Experience with Microsoft Project and/or OpenPlan software to create and manage Integrated Master Schedules.

• Organized, flexible, have strong interpersonal skills, take initiative, manage multiple tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Previous proposal or Basis-of-Estimates writing or reviewing experience

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
