Overview
LMI seeks a skilled Full Stack Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of the U.S. Army Center for Initial Military Training's (CIMT) Holistic Health & Fitness Management System. This position is part of a lean Agile technical team supporting cloud hosting, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, data engineering, and the development of a user interface (UI) that provides secure access to the vendor-developed H2F application.
The Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for designing and building web-based UI components, APIs, middleware services, and integration features that connect the H2F application to Army enterprise systems, additional applications, and data sources. This role requires strong front-end and back-end engineering skills, user-centered design collaboration, and experience working in secure cloud environments.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with experience building production-grade software in modern frameworks, supporting UCD workflows, and implementing secure coding practices within DoW environments.

Responsibilities
- Develop web-based UI components that provide access to the H2F application.
- Implement responsive, accessible, and intuitive interfaces aligned with User-Centered Design (UCD) principles.
- Convert wireframes, prototypes, and user feedback into high-quality production interfaces.
- Ensure compliance with Army security, accessibility (508), and usability requirements.
- Develop server-side logic, APIs, and integration services connecting the UI to the H2F cloud environment, databases, and vendor-provided endpoints.
- Implement middleware that enables interoperability with Army enterprise systems and potential future applications.
- Ensure secure handling of authentication, authorization, data validation, and audit logging.
- Work with data engineers to build secure data access layers, API gateways, and data services for analytics and insights.
- Support transformation, filtering, and packaging of H2F data for dashboards, reports, and decision-support tools.
- Ensure data flows are secure, traceable, and compliant with Army data governance policies.
- Develop within a CI/CD pipeline with automated testing, static code analysis, and vulnerability scanning.
- Follow DoW secure coding standards and participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot issues across the stack and support environment-level testing and integration validation.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and sprint reviews.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical PM, cloud architects, cybersecurity specialists, and Human Performance SMEs.
- Provide input to UI/UX design sessions and user story refinement.
- Document interfaces, APIs, data mappings, and architecture diagrams as required.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of full stack development experience building front-end and back-end solutions.
- Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and UI component libraries.
- Proficiency with back-end development frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python FastAPI/Flask/Django, Java Spring Boot).
- Experience developing secure, scalable REST APIs.
- Experience integrating applications with cloud-native services (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Understanding of secure coding practices, Zero Trust principles, and DoW cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret clearance.
- Location: Remote
- Travel: Ability to travel to the customer site at Fort Eustis, Virginia and/or the LMI HQ in Tysons, VA up 1-2 times per quarter to plan work and collaborate with the agile team and Army stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoW customers, ideally CIMT, H2F, T2COM, or related Army programs.
- Experience building UIs or middleware for Government cloud applications.
- Familiarity with cARMY, IL2/IL4/IL5 cloud environments, or similar DoW cloud offerings.
- Experience with authentication/authorization frameworks (CAC, SSO, OAuth2, SAML).
- Experience with data visualization frameworks (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, Power BI embedded).
- Certifications such as AWS Developer, Security+, CSSLP, or equivalent.
