Experience of plastic and related materials found on submarines. Experience with precision measuring equipment use in relation to manufacturing, repairing and replacing submarine rubber and plastic materials. Experience reading blueprints, specifications and technical documentation.

Experience conducting Safety requirements and written processes for various Rubber & Plastic repairs and fabrication. Experience with proper rubber, paint and fiberglass removal techniques. Eperience in preparation of metal and fiberglass surfaces for painting application.

- You will manufacture and repair a variety of plastic and rubber articles.
- You will prepare surfaces prior to plastic/rubber installation.
- You will manufacture items made of thermoset plastics (model cast), including plaques, bunk vent screens.
- You will prepare surfaces for painting and apply paint to repaired items.

- May be required to work at various heights from ladders, scaffolding, buckets, etc. as well as confined spaces such as trunks or tanks.
- May be required to work on nuclear systems and participate in RADCON activities as deemed necessary to meet management needs.
- Incumbent must maintain an IT_II Level Designation
- Work aboard ships and submarines and within shops may require periods of standing, vertical climbing, stooping, crawling, and moving in and out of areas of close confinement.
- Light to moderate physical exertion will be required in lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally lifting objects up to 110 pounds with assistance.
