•Apex Systems is currently hiring for an IT Specialist MID for a large government client that provides secure, end-to-end IT services to over 650,000 users across 2,500+ locations, including Norfolk, VA, by integrating network operations, cybersecurity, service desk support, and transport services.
Project Details / Mission Supported:
•Our client is the prime contractor for the NGEN-SMIT program, which is focused on modernizing and converging the Navy and Marine Corps' enterprise networks. This includes:
o Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI)
o Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN)
o OCONUS Naval Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) [leidos.com]
•This role contributes to the digital modernization of the Navy and Marine Corps by:
o Enhancing mission readiness in DDIL (Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited) environments
o Supporting critical intelligence access for decision-making
o Improving network agility, security, and efficiency
Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:
•CompTIA Security + or equivalent certification
•An Active Secret Clearance
•3+ years of hands on IT hardware and software troubleshooting experience
•Must feel comfortable troubleshooting laptops, desktop devices, peripheral equipment, and basic Outlook issues
•Comfortable working M-F 7:30AM-4PM, and comfortable being the floater for the MOC technician and covering their shift when needed
Location: Norfolk, VA-Norfolk Naval Station
Onsite expectation: 100% on-site
Clearance Level: Secret
Salary/Pay range: $26.03/hr. + $5.09 SCA Fringe Benefit Rate (paid weekly on W2)
NOTE: Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment*
