Duties
Help
  • Serves as a Shift Supervisor for a guard force shift consisting of subordinate Security Guards who are responsible for providing 24 hour maximum or extraordinary security measures against theft, fire, accident, pilferage, trespass, sabotage.
  • Makes decisions according to the nature of perceived threat by the nature of hazards imposed by local terrain, and/or weather or other conditions that affect lighting, communications, and the ability to observe or pursue violators.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.

  • Pre-employment physical is required

  • Must meet requirements of Lautenberg Amendment
  • CPR certification is required
  • Must be able to work shift/weekends/holidays
  • Must meet Individual Reliability Program IAW AR 190-56
  • Must wear PPP

Specialized experience is defined as: Makes decisions according to the nature of perceived threat, ensuring the guard force understands their immediate role in protection of government and personal property.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07) or equivalent.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
