Overview
Nakupuna Prime is seeking a System Administrator to support the Army Human Resources Command. We are actively staffing contingent positions with a start date during the contract transition phase between December 12-26, 2025. The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing web-based systems, application servers, and related infrastructure. This role ensures availability, performance, and security by performing system administration, troubleshooting, patching, and configuration management. Working closely with development, networking, cybersecurity, and operations teams, the System Administrator supports the delivery of reliable and systems that meet organizational and mission requirements.

Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must be self-motivated, pay close attention to detail, and have good oral and written communication skills. Additional certifications may be required as prescribed by DoDD 8140 (e.g., Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CASP CE).
Education/Experience:
Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.
Work Location: Fort Knox, Kentucky. Telework may be authorized once approved by the Government.

Web Server & Application Administration
- Install, configure, and manage web servers and application servers such as Apache, NGINX, IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic, or WebSphere
- Monitor and maintain web applications and backend services to ensure availability and performance
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates, domain configurations, and DNS entries related to web operations
- Support deployment of web-based applications and updates in collaboration with development teams
System Administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and patch Linux and/or Windows servers supporting web services
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system security settings in accordance with organizational policies
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and resource usage, proactively addressing emerging issues
- Automate routine tasks using scripts or configuration management tools
Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to web servers, middleware, operating systems, and underlying infrastructure
- Provide Tier II/III support for incidents involving web services, content delivery, authentication, and integration points
- Work with networking and cybersecurity teams to address connectivity, security, or performance-related challenges
Security & Compliance
- Apply security patches, hardening standards, and vulnerability remediation for web services and servers
- Maintain compliance with security frameworks such as NIST, RMF, FISMA, or organizational policies
- Support log monitoring, audit preparation, and incident response activities
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, architectures, processes, and standard operating procedures
- Identify and recommend improvements in web infrastructure, automation, or monitoring
- Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to web hosting, cloud platforms, and systems administration
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must be self-motivated, pay close attention to detail, and have good oral and written communication skills. Additional certifications may be required as prescribed by DoDD 8140 (e.g., Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CASP CE).
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience.
