SMX is searching for a Junior Construction Assistant to support our government client at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

The Junior Construction Assistant will be responsible for providing secretarial support to assigned Construction Surveillance Technicians; establishing and maintaining records; compiling and distributing materials and reports; and responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings and activities for the purpose of supporting Construction Surveillance staff with operational activities
  • Maintain a wide variety of files and records (manual/computer; confidential/non-confidential) for the purpose of providing documentation in accordance with construction surveillance requirements
  • Monitor assigned departmental activities and/or program components (e.g. travel arrangements, meetings and events, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that goals are achieved, target dates are met, legal and/or administrative requirements are satisfied
  • Prepare a variety of written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information
  • Respond to a variety of inquiries from internal and external parties for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction
  • Supports assigned Construction Surveillance personnel for the purpose of providing assistance with administrative functions
  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain Top Secret
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • The ability to multi-task and successfully prioritize workload

$17.98 - $26.92 USD
