This position is part of the Energy Group within the Engineering and Projects Directorate and is responsible for the planning, managing, and technical performance of a team of analysts. As a Manager III, the role requires advanced expertise in analytical techniques, engineering principles, and leadership skills to oversee complex projects while also contributing directly to the team's efforts as an individual contributor when necessary.
The Engineering Manager will lead the team in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for analysis within their area, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in analytical processes. Additionally, the Manager is expected to collaborate with other departments to support broader analytical efforts and act as a reviewer-or delegate team members to act as reviewers-for technical reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables across the organization.
This position oversees all phases of assigned analytical and engineering projects from inception through completion, ensuring quality, business, and financial objectives are met. The role requires close collaboration with technical staff, program managers, and Division/Group executive management to develop and implement current, annual, and long-term technical objectives for the team.

- Team Leadership: Directly manage and support a team of analysts, ensuring alignment with technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives.

- Individual Contribution: Actively contribute to the team's analytical efforts by performing high-level analysis, solving complex problems, and supporting critical project deliverables when necessary.
- Technical Reviews: Act as a reviewer-or delegate team members to act as reviewers-for technical reviews across the department, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to technical standards.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Support and coordinate analytical efforts across other departments as needed, ensuring alignment and integration of technical work.
- Technical Collaboration: Participate in the establishment of design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, testing, and integration, while ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Problem-Solving: Identify issues within analytical or technical processes and develop solutions to optimize team performance and project outcomes.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for analytical and technical activities, collaborating with internal and external representatives to resolve challenges and ensure project success.
- Talent Development: Support the attraction, selection, retention, and development of analytical and technical talent within the team, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
- Confidentiality and Security: Ensure the security of proprietary technology and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Compliance: Ensure all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Work must be accomplished safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in engineering or a related technical field as well as eleven or more years of progressively complex engineering and analytical experience. Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Demonstrates technical expertise in the application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice, as well as advanced analytical techniques and project management skills. Must possess the ability to resolve complex management, technical, and analytical problems.
- Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
- Customer-focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
- A Professional Engineering License and original work(s) published in professional engineering journals are desirable.
